I currently a Post Doctoral Scholar working with Dr. Joshua Leonardis at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. I am passionate about research that positively impacts people by improving mobility, function, and recovery from injury or surgery.
My long-term career goal is to lead an independent research program that bridges biomechanics, rehabilitation engineering, and quantitative imaging to improve musculoskeletal health and function in vulnerable and underserved populations. I plan to establish a research agenda that will:
Advance quantitative imaging techniques for assessing multiscale shoulder muscle and tendon morphology.
Integrate imaging biomarkers with joint loading measures to identify mechanistic pathways of pathology.
Optimize therapeutic measures - including orthopedic surgery and rehabilitation - for individuals with debilitating shoulder pathology.
My dissertation research at the Mobility Lab, in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, focused on the biomechanical mechanisms underlying patterns of rotator cuff health in manual wheelchair users with pediatric-onset spinal cord injury or dysfunction.
